ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Established in the year 2000, the Department of Information Technology has consistently attracted bright and highly motivated students. The Department is soon going to accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The department strives to be a center for excellence, innovation and research with dedicated faculty, highly motivated students, state-of-the-art facilities and an innovative teaching-learning environment.
Our students have consistently achieved excellent placements year after year and have demonstrated a high level of success at pursuing post graduate. Many of our students are currently at universities of repute like Carnegie Mellon University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Yale, Cornell, Columbia, Duke University, Purdue, Georgia Tech, and in the IITs and IIMs
Information Technology has penetrated in every area. In every sector of today's life Information Technology is playing an important role. Even R & D departments in various IT companies have been developed to enable various research oriented activities. Thus, IT has received tremendous importance in the past 10-15 years due to the new economic policies of the government.
In terms of employment, IT engineers have a wide range of opportunities in various companies like Infosys, Calsoft, Persistent, IBM, Wipro, Canbay, L & T Infotech, TATA Consultancy Services, etc. This only goes to indicate that, Information Technology will continue to offer good jobs for many more years to come

To develop state-of-art laboratories for education, R & D in the emerging areas of Information Technology. Apart from the laboratories prescribed for the curriculum of undergraduate IT course, MIT has taken initiative to establish the following common research facilities:
-   RCFC (Research Common Facility Centre).
-   Innovation Lab in collaboration with AMDOCS.
SHORT TERM GOALS
To set up new laboratories, research facilities and to encourage the faculty to pursue higher qualifications.
PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
-   To exhibit analytical skills in modeling and solving computing problems by applying mathematical, scientific and engineering knowledge and to pursue their higher studies
-   To communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams to develop quality computing systems with an orientation towards research and development for lifelong learning
-   To use emerging technologies in project development to fulfill industry and societal needs for the growth of global economy following professional ethics
LABORATORIES
1. Programming Lab
Programming Laboratory provides excellent teaching learning methodology with enough facilities for overall development of students. In this lab we do all basic and hardcore programming.In this lab we mainly focus on c,and c++ which is the heart of all programming.Operating system and system software programmes are also handled in these lab.
Equipments: PCs with Pentium D Processor, Dot Matrix & Laser Printers, LCD Projector.
Software: Turbo C, C++, Microsoft Word 2007, Eclips JUNO

2.Software Development Tools Lab
The Department of information Technology has a Software Development tools laboratory.This lab is specially empowered with application softwares like VB,ORACLE and JAVA.It also deals with security related applications

Software: Turbo C, C++, Microsoft Visual Studio, Net beans, Java, Oracle 10g,

3. Project & Computer Lab
In Department of Information Technology, Project & Computer Laboratory is developed for conducting practical & Project Work for final year students.
Equipments: PCs with Pentium D Processor, Laser Printer & All in one Printer, LCD Projector.
Software: Turbo C, C++, Microsoft Visual Studio, Net beans, Java, IBM Rational Rose,
